Wisconsin Substance Use Summit
The Wisconsin Substance Use Summit is an event focused on actionable strategies to build healthy communities through substance use prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services and supports.
Events take place throughout the year in Wisconsin that bring together major stakeholders and partners to brainstorm and strategize on how to best address Wisconsin’s health challenges.
The Wisconsin Substance Use Summit is an event focused on actionable strategies to build healthy communities through substance use prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services and supports.
This two-day tribal-led convening will bring together Tribal leaders, health directors, epidemiology centers, clinicians, public health professionals, workforce leaders, and state and national partners. Rooted in sovereignty and focused on the future, this conference is designed to advance tribal public health systems through leadership, innovation, and collaboration in the Great Lakes area and beyond.
This conference features sessions on substance use prevention, treatment, recovery, and risk reduction and is designed for treatment and recovery service providers, criminal justice partners, human services, prevention professionals, medical providers, and community and tribal leaders. Individuals who work, reside, or serve individuals from the HOPE Consortium service area, including Barron, Clark, Dunn, Forest, Iron, Jackson, Oneida, Polk, Portage, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, St. Croix, Taylor, Vilas, and Wood Counties, and Forest County Potawatomi, Ho-Chunk, Lac du Flambeau Chippewa, Sokaogon Chippewa, and St. Croix Tribal Nations are encouraged to attend, however, anyone interested in substance use is invited to attend.
This event celebrates and supports recovery, creating opportunities for attendees to connect with others, and eliminate stigma. In addition to statewide speakers, and recovery speakers, the event will include resource tables, naloxone administration training, craft and wellness activities, kids activities, DJ and dancing, an open mic, and free t-shirts, key chains, pizza and refreshments. The Wisconsin Voices for Recovery Advocacy Award will also be presented. There will be an American Sign Language interpreter at the event.
This conference aims to provide education on best practices in a culturally aware format that leads to superior quality mental healthcare services that benefits individuals, providers, and communities.
This educational conference is designed for professionals across disciplines who work in addiction treatment and prevention, including physicians, PAs, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, mental health and substance abuse counselors, recovery coaches, law enforcement, public health workers.
